Initial Impressions
This brief is about a week old, washed three times (no fabric softener), and used with the diaper pad set, snap-in liner, and the brief itself. For a cloth system, it feels surprisingly close to regular underwear. Not truly “normal briefs,” but close enough to forget about bulk once it’s on.
I usually wear a 48–50 waist, and the XL is snug but workable. The rise (“tallness”) could use improvement—the waist doesn’t come up quite as high as I’d like, especially once inserts are added. With the snap-in liner it’s a bit bulky; with the “soaker bomb” booster it gets noticeably thicker, and extra depth would help balance that bulk.
Performance Testing (All Tests Performed Sitting)
Full bladder release: The brief system handled more than expected. It took a full flow without major leaks. Absorption was slower than a disposable, but only minimal dampness escaped.
Walking and sitting in a soaked brief: Even wet and moving around, leaks were minor. Yes, under normal pants the wetness would eventually show through, but for a cloth system this is impressive.
Second release (without boosters): This overloaded the system, as expected. Website recommends boosters for heavy use, and I can see why.
Verdict
ThreadedArmor gets an A+ from me. Even without boosters, the system handled more than I thought it would. With boosters, it should handle full overnight or heavy daytime use. Add the eco-benefit of reducing disposables going into landfills, and I can easily recommend this product.
